a perfect cookie exchange

so, I’m hosting a cookie exchange with some friends very soon.  and as you know (or may not know), a cookie exchange is a great way to get together with friends during the holidays and enjoy each other’s baking.  each guest bakes a batch of a cookie of their choice, and then everyone gets to pick a few cookies from each other’s plates, and you take home a plateful of different cookies — only needing to bake one batch.  (can we say great teamwork and efficient!)  now for me, the ideal cookie exchange  would have a mix of classic cookies, some new/modern takes and even some international versions for everyone to try.  so I decided to pick 12 cookies that I think would fit that bill and would really take the plate! ( and may not make it back home…shhhh).   what do you think, what’s your favorite?
